Climate
The coastal area of the Eastern Cape lies directly between the subtropical conditions of the Western Cape, while its inland area is bisected by the Great Escarpment, resulting in the southern reaches defined by a series of rivers and corresponding wetland fauna and flora, while the northern areas are those of the altitudinous plains of the Plateau and the Great Karoo.

These topographic inconsistencies are exemplified by the climatological conditions experienced by the towns and cities within these areas.

In the North East, along the Wild Coast, towns like Port St John's experience long, hot summer months and moderate winters.

Up towards the Free State, at towns such as Lady Grey and Aliwal North, the rise in altitude means the appropriate lowering in temperature and the towns, just a few hundred kilometres from the swelter of the other areas, experience conditions favoured more by skiers than sunbathers.

Coastal cities generally enjoy a daily average of 7 hours of sunshine annually. Winter (April-August) temperatures range from 10 - 23º Celsius and Summer sees temperatures ranging from 17 - 35º Celsius

Game farms:

As an investment they have seen excellent returns of 50 to 500% over the years. The growth and profit of this industry outstrips all others in agriculture. There are more than 4000 game farms that cover millions of hectares with more than 2 million head of game. Our main focus is on the Eastern Cape which has fast become a prime location for game farming. The reason for this is the three fold, firstly the land is best suited to game farming rather than stock farming. The second factor is the land is still relatively cheap compared with other areas in Southern Africa and the third is the growing market of wildlife and eco-tourism that continues to improve year on year.(Addo 100 000 plus tourists per year.) Our Principal, Peter Warren, is a farmer, who holds a professional hunters licence and has lived and hunted on farms in the Eastern Cape for most of his life.
